Samuel Eto’o : Mourinho Is A Fool For Calling Me An Old Man

3:37 AM 1 Comment

Samuel Eto’o says he is 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters. Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. He continued, “Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great. So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups.” Do you think Africa can have their say at the World Cup in Brazil?I hope so. Because people think Africa are just there for the show. And it is because football leaders don’t respect us that our opponents don’t respect us. But look at the main European clubs, where a lot of Africans are shining. Take Manchester City as an example, and look at the goals scored by Yaya Touré. If it was Messi, we will be talking about it for three years.Côte d’Ivoire are the best African side today. They are above the rest on paper, but they must win. Africa must fight to get as far as possible and why not win the World Cup. People will say I am crazy, but if I am not crazy why would I go to Brazil? SEE MORE AFTER CUT>>>>>>

Chelsea Set To Conclude Diego Costa Transfer Before World Cup

3:03 AM Add Comment

Diego Costa scored a penalty for Atlético Madrid against Chelsea when the sides met in last month's Champions League semi-finals. Chelsea hope to conclude the signing of Diego Costa from Atlético Madrid immediately after the Spanish club's participation in the Champions League final on 24 May after agreeing to meet the £31.8m release clause in the striker's contract.
The Brazilian-born Costa has been a key member of the Atlético side who can secure the Spanish title by avoiding defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou in their final league game this weekend. The 25-year-old has scored 27 goals in La Liga this season, the most productive campaign of his career by some distance, but has been just as impressive in helping Diego Simeone's side reach a first European Cup final in 40 years.
Indeed, he scored the penalty which edged the Spanish club 2-1 up at Stamford Bridge in the semi-final last month, going head to head with John Terry in one flashpoint in the fixture and riling the home support in the Matthew Harding stand behind Mark Schwarzer's goal. The striker has long been José Mourinho's principal forward target for the close season, a player Chelsea could not hope to prise away from the Vicente Calderón mid-term, with the London club now prepared to trigger the release clause in Costa's deal. Ferdinand said recently that he hoped to stay at United and he is determined to continue his career. The former England captain and centre-half, at 35, is keen to play on in the Premier League if he receives an offer that suits. He will weigh his options carefully and is sure to field offers from abroad, including from Dubai, China and Major League Soccer.
There is the strong possibility that Ferdinand will move into coaching at some point, so a player-coach role may be considered. Ferdinand, who is from Peckham in south London, had been away from his home town since being transferred from West Ham United to Leeds United in 2000. SEE MOTRE AFTER CUT>>>>>>>

But the statistics reveal an unlikely winner. If you haven't guessed by now, the player with the most goal assists per minutes played this season is Pablo Hernandez.
